Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu-Kyirong Border-Kyirong Town (2800 m, 150km, 6/7 hours drive)
Our English speaking representative will pick you up from your hotel in Kathmandu in the morning and then we will drive through small mountain road to the border at Nepalese side. On the overland drive you can enjoy the waterfall, river, gorges, and forest. Finally, we will arrive Nepal Tibet newly opened Kyirong border. Our Tibetan guide and driver will pick you up at the border and make the necessary immigration paper work and then continue driving to Kyirong town at the distance of 20 km. Overnight at local guesthouse/hostel in Kyirong Town.
Day 2: Kyirong-Pekutso-Tingri-Lhatse. (4050m, 347 km, 6 hours)
After breakfast around 9 am, you will start your journey to Lhatse driving through Kyirong pass at the elevation of over 4900m and then drive along Pekutso Lake and continue to Old Tingri at the distance of around 180 km from Kyirong County. The scenery is extremely beautiful with Shisha Pangma Snow Mountain on the right and Pekutso on the left. If the weather is nice, you will see Mount Everest from old Tingri. You will continue driving on the friendship highway and reach Lhatse after crossing the highest pass called Gyatsola at the elevation of 5200m. Overnight at local guesthouse in Lhatse town
Day 3: Lhatse-Shigatse (3900m, 150 km, 5 hours)
You will start your tour at around 9.30 am from your hotel and drive through one big mountain pass, Tso la 4500m and some beautiful villages. You will have your lunch at Shigatse and then head for the sightseeing of Tashi Lhunpo monastery. Overnight at Shigatse Everest Friendship Hotel or similar
Day 4: Shigatse-Gyangtse (3950m, 90 km)
You will start your tour at around 9 am from your hotel and then drive to Gyangtse. Have lunch in Gyangtse and then Visit Palchoe monastery and Kumbum Pagoda stupa. In the afternoon, explore the old town of Gyangtse. Overnight at Gyantse Yuthok hotel, or similar
Day 5: Gyangtse-Yamdrok lake-Lhasa (3650m, 270 km)
You will start your tour at around 9 am from your hotel and then drive towards Lhasa via 3 big mountain passes, Simila, Karo La, Kampa La, respectively. Karola is the highest pass among them which is over 5000 mts with it's most beautiful glaciers, beautiful Yamdrok lake emerged as coral color from the top of Kampala pass. You will have your lunch at Nakartse country, which are just between the Yamdrok Lake and Karola glaciers. Overnight at Lhasa Flora Hotel, or similar
Day 6: Guided Lhasa Tour
Sightseeing tour in Lhasa visits Potala Palace, Jokang temple, Bharkor Bazaar. You will depart from the hotel at 9 am after your breakfast and head to Potala Palace, the Potala is considered one of the great wonders of the world. It is held sacred by Tibetans as the former residence of successive. Dalai Lamas, and is one of Tibet's most holy pilgrimage sites. A palace was originally built in the 7 th century by King Songtsen Gampo, and was believed to have been nine stories high, but around the 9th century it is believed to have been destroyed by a big fire
The present Potala Palace was constructed by the great fifth Dalai Lama in the 17 th century after he became ruler of Tibet. The Potala Palace is divided into two sections, the White Palace (completed in 1653) and Red palace (completed 1694). It has more than one thousand rooms and is thirteen stories high. The White Palace was secular in nature and mainly used for government administration, whilst the Red palace was mainly used for religious functions and still has numerous chapels, including those containing reliquary stupas of the successive Dalai Lamas which are richly decorated in gold, silver and semi-precious stones.
Jokhang Temple is Tibet’s most sacred temple, the main point of pilgrims from the entire Tibetan plateau, the temple is located at then heart of the ancient town of Lhasa, it was built in the 7th century by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo’s queen Bhrikuti on a site identified by Queen Wencheng according to her geometric calculation. The temple is 3 stories high and it is constructed with enormous chapels including the most sacred statue of Budhha Shakyamuni, enshrined. It has around 70 monks nowadays.
Ancient Barkor Street is the most sacred pilgrimage site in Lhasa and it is full of pilgrims from down till dusk. There are four huge prayer flags situated in Bhakor street which surrounds the Jokang, known respectively as Gadhen Dharchen in the northeast, Juyak Dharchen in the west, Kelsang Dharchen in the southwest and SharKyaring Dharchen in the southeast. The Bharkor street is the most active market in all Tibet and it is possible to purchase traditional Tibetan artifacts, religious implements, antiques, modern goods, books, music, clothing, spices, fresh meat and vegetable. Day 7:  Lhasa Tour
First day of Lhasa tour visits Drepung and Sera monasteries.  At 9 am you will depart from the hotel to go visit the Drepung Monastery, it is the largest monastery in Tibet, built in the 15th century by Jamyang Choeje who is one of Tsongkapa’s foremost disciple. The monastery is beautifully located up in a hill at the distance of 7 km from the old section of the city and it is the biggest monastery in Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery has four main colleges with numerous small chapels and house chapels, known as Khangtsen in Tibetan. There are around six hundred monks nowadays.
Sera Monastery
was founded in around 15th century by Jamchen Choeje who is another famous disciple of Tsongkapa and it is the second largest monastery of Tibet. There are three big colleges with numerous chapels and house chapels. The most attraction to visit this monastery is to see the monks debating which hold from 3-5 pm everyday apart from Sunday. Day 8: Lhasa Airport (3600m, 60 km)
Say good bye to the most famous Palace in the world, Potala and ancient city of Lhasa. Drive to Lhasa airport along the Lhasa River which is the biggest tributary of Brahmaputra emptied in to the Bay of Bengal in India or to the train station.
